Laker's story

Meet Laker who is a mother to four children who all attend school. They stay in Gulu.

She is a farmer who grows millet, cassava, and sorghum. Being a single mother with a large family is not an easy job. It calls for hard work and dedication. Besides the farming, she also has a small home stall that sells mainly dry foodstuffs. Through these activities, she provides for her family with a few basic needs.

The number of customers she has are very many, but the stocks are very limited. She would like to add stock to the business so that she will be able to offer her children a better life through education.

Her dream is to buy a motorcycle that will enable her to make extra money and also move to the main market.

She is forever grateful to VisionFund and Kiva for the support they have given her.
