Capital for creators: How Kiva and Etsy are backing creative entrepreneurs
Kiva and Etsy are expanding access to capital for creative entrepreneurs across the United States through zero-interest, zero-fee microloans. Backed by Etsy’s Uplift Fund, the partnership helps artists, makers, and small business owners who face barriers to traditional financing crowdfund affordable loans to start and grow their businesses. Since 2011, Kiva U.S. has facilitated more than $19 million in microloans to borrowers in arts, retail, and clothing sectors. Together, Kiva and Etsy are strengthening the creative economy by closing capital access gaps, supporting underbanked entrepreneurs, and driving inclusive small business growth.
