Chris' story

I grew up in Prince George's County, Maryland, one of the most economically powerful majority-Black counties in the nation, raised by two parents who taught me that service to others is the rent we pay for our time on earth. My father, Deacon Jimmy, lived that out every day until Alzheimer's took him from us in April of last year.

I spent eleven years at JPMorgan Chase, Deloitte, PwC, and Capital One building risk systems, tracking patterns across billions of dollars, finding what others missed. But the most important pattern I ever caught was in my own life. I went through a season where I needed support and could not bring myself to ask for it. I had people who loved me. A therapist who believed in me. A support system ready to show up. And I still could not pick up the phone. The shame of needing help was louder than the help itself. That is where Serenity started.

Then I lost my dad. Watching the people closest to him, his family, his caregivers, his church, struggle in silence between visits and appointments, I saw that pattern everywhere. One hundred and sixty-seven hours between sessions where nobody checked in. People suffering alone because the system showed up one hour a week and disappeared for the rest.

Serenity is what I needed and could not find. A two-tap daily check-in that surfaces real patterns within a week, connects people to their support network, and gives clinicians actual data instead of guesswork. I built this for men like me, men who have the people and the love around them but cannot close the gap between needing help and asking for it. I spent eleven years building systems that protect dollars. Serenity is the first I have built to protect people.
