A loan of $3,825 helps a member to buy supplies and continue making shaved ice to sell in order to generate greater income.

Mujeres De Ypacarai Group's story
María is an active member of the Mujeres De Ypacarai credit group and the mother of a daughter with autism, who requires her constant care and special attention. She currently sells minutas [Paraguayan-style shaved ice treats], both door-to-door and from her home. This job allows her to generate income to support her family while also setting her own work hours in order to be present in her daughter's care.
Before venturing into her food business, María worked selling clothing. However, upon joining the credit group, she found the opportunity to reinvent herself and start a business that offered her greater stability and flexibility.
Her dream is to expand her enterprise and set up a small shop in her home, either as a grocery store or an equipped kitchen where she can produce minutas in larger quantities. To achieve this, she plans to invest her loan in supplies such as chicken breast, ground beef, eggs, mozzarella cheese, cold cuts, and beef loin, among other products.
The credit group María belongs to is made up of entrepreneurial women engaged in various jobs, including the sale of clothing, footwear, peanuts, snacks, minutas, and home-based grocery stores. The man shown in the photo is also a member of the group.
