Melanie's story
Melanie resides in the province of Iloilo. She is 65 years old and married, and her husband earns a livelihood through fishing, a trade they have been engaged in for 15 years.
Currently, Melanie is seeking a loan of PHP 70,000 through Kiva’s field partner, CEV (a microfinance NGO in the Philippines). She will use the loan to purchase plywood and an engine for their fishing boat.
Melanie aspires to enhance their livelihood in the future, with the goal of achieving a better standard of living.
