Albedo Solar

Albedo Solar is making clean energy accessible for small businesses and community organizations in Central America.This Kiva loan will allow Albedo to scale its impact by financing solar leases in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.

The funds will be used to purchase and install solar equipment for new clients, reducing their energy costs, improving productivity, and enabling them to reinvest savings into their core missions—whether it’s delivering health services, supporting smallholder farmers, or growing rural businesses.

By enabling upfront financing, this loan makes clean energy accessible to those who would otherwise be excluded from traditional financing options. It will also support Albedo's regional growth while maintaining affordable energy for the communities it serves.

In the picture, Deborah from Albedo´s team is helping install solar at Women Changing Lives, a feminist fund in Central America that mobilizes flexible, multi-year support—financial, emotional, organizational—to strengthen women’s, feminist, and LGBTQ+ movements so they can advance rights, dignity, and social justice across the region.
