After graduating with an economics degree from Grinnell college, Wesley worked for five years in accounting, finance, and business development for small and medium sized manufacturing concerns in northern Indiana. He is now transitioning to a career in international development, a transition that is six years in the making. It started with his life-changing experience at the Thunderbird School of Global Management. There, Wesley met people from all over the world, including Americans who spoke multiple languages and had lived/worked abroad. He was inspired to not just see the world, but to immerse himself in another culture and to learn another language. Following the MBA, he spent two years living, traveling, and studying Spanish in Latin America. He then enrolled in Middlebury College's MA in Spanish program, the culmination of his efforts to learn Spanish. He decided to become a Kiva Fellow in Honduras order to see firsthand the powerful impact of microlending in alleviating poverty and creating growth. Impressed with Kiva's people, culture, and mission, he's excited to be joining Kiva full-time.
