Oct. 22 -- We did it! Thank you to all the Kiva supporters who voted in the Google Impact Challenge. Because of you, Kiva was awarded the grand prize of $500,000! We are so excited to continue growing our impact locally and globally with the Kiva community.

Oct. 5 -- Exciting news! Kiva Oakland is a finalist in the Bay Area Google Impact Challenge and could win $500,000 to grow more neighborhood businesses. Please vote to support Oakland's small business owners. Voting takes just 2 clicks and requires no registration or email!

The top 4 projects will receive a $500,000 grant, and the remaining 6 will receive a $250,000 grant.

With the Google Impact grant, Kiva Oakland will crowdfund 0% interest loans for small business owners who are socially impactful but financially excluded. Over 3 years, we’ll generate $4 million in funding for 800 community entrepreneurs to build their businesses and strengthen Oakland's neighborhoods and economy.

Nearly 90% of businesses in Oakland are small businesses and they help create a unique and vibrant community. They have the passion and the plan, but often lack just a small amount of capital to start or expand. Your vote can help make that happen.
