Kiva is full of stories to share: stories of borrowers and lenders, of volunteers, fellows and field partners. And we know that you have stories to share with us!
Here at Kiva, we are constantly looking for new ways to share our stories with you and to allow you to do the same. We love using Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to engage with the Kiva community. Over the last six months, however, we have established a presence on other, more visual channels as well, and we want to share with you what we’ve done! Get ready for an inside look at Kiva’s new, and expanding, social media ecosystem!
Instagram: Instagram is the “fast, beautiful and fun way to share your photos with friends and family,” and we are thrilled to have made our photo sharing debut! We are now using Instagram as a way to share photos of borrowers around the world. You can see beautiful pictures of Beshekhan in Kyrgyzstan, Aram in Armenia, and many more. You can also see behind the scenes photos of the Kiva staff hard at work at our headquarters in San Francisco! See the pictures that narrate the stories of what we do. Find and follow us at “kiva_microloans.”
Pinterest: Pinterest is an excellent way to share stories and pictures, articles and news that speak to you. We are excited to have a place to share even more of our stories through photos with you! Check out our boards, such as “In the News,” “Life at Kiva,” and “Friends of Kiva,” to quickly explore and share what is swirling around in the Kiva universe. And, of course, make your own Kiva board! It is a great way to share the stories of borrowers you’ve helped fund.. Label your board “My Kiva Story.” We look forward to seeing what you create!
Tumblr: Looking for beautiful Kiva images to share with your followers, friends, and fans? We are excited to introduce our Kiva Tumblr! We have created a place to include some of our favorite borrower and travel photos so we can share them with you!
Google+: We created a brand page here at Kiva that allows you to loop us into one or more of your circles. Get updates, pictures, and videos in real time! Add in your thoughts, make posts your own, and share what speaks to you.
So, whether you tweet, post, or pin, you can now share your Kiva story in many ways! We can’t wait to see what you create! #MyKivaStory
