Microcredit Summit 2010, in Nairobi, Kenya
MFIConnect, an online hub for student microfinance opportunities, would like to invite college students to the Microcredit Summit 2010, in Nairobi, Kenya. MFI Connect (www.mficonnect.com) is a new and growing website that is focusing on social networking and grassroots campaigns to facilitate collaboration between microfinance institutions and university students.
In coordination with Sam Daley-Harris, director of The Microcredit Summit Campaign, MFI Connect is working to bring a delegation of passionate students to the 2010 Africa/Middle East Regional Microcredit Summit from April 5 - April 11, 2010*. The MFI Connect experience includes field visits, panel sessions, workshops, brushing shoulders with inspiring microfinance professionals, and the chance for MFI Connect members to meet and work together as students supporting microfinance. MFI Connect is also working with Sam Daley to create a special student session with Muhammad Yunus (Grameen Bank) and Ingrid Munro (Jamii Bora Trust). The more students can come, the more likely we'll be able to hold this session!
If you are looking for financial support to attend the summit, please click here. E-mail mficonnect.nairobi2010@gmail.com with any questions.
*The actual Summit will be April 7-10, but MFI Connect has developed activities surrounding the Summit for participants to enjoy.
