Kiva.org is extremely pleased to announce a partnership with HOPE International, a global, faith-based, non-profit organization focused on poverty alleviation through microenterprise development.
HOPE's vision is to enable sustainable economic development that results in significant and lasting change, temporal and eternal, in the lives of many people living in poverty. HOPE works in twelve countries: Afghanistan, China, the Dominican Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, South Asia, Uganda, and Ukraine.
HOPE has been operating in Ukraine since 1997. Ukraine was HOPE's first country of operation and since inception, over 27,000 loans have been distributed in total. Known as Nadiya ('Hope' in Ukrainian), branch offices in Ukraine reach financial self-sufficiency in only 18 months and are located in 8 of the 25 oblasts (states) of Ukraine.
