Congratulations to everyone who placed in the Kiva Instructional Video Competition hosted by Tongal! We were very impressed with the entries and had our work cut out for us last week when we sat down to judge over 50 submissions!
You can watch Erik Andersson’s amazing $3,500, grand prize winning Kiva video, "The Pedro Story" here. Congratulations, Erik! Below is a complete list of all the winners’ profiles and the final results of the Kiva Competition.
The goal of the contest was to find the video that best describes “How Kiva Works” in the most simple, accurate and creative way. We were looking for videos that not only served as a tutorial, but as a tool to raise awareness and attract new lenders to Kiva.org.
1st place ($3,500) – Erik Andersson, “The Pedro Story”
2nd place ($1,500) – Andre Ferreira, “You Too Can Help”
3rd place ($1,000) – Kieran Ball, “From Desk to Door: Kiva’s Microloan Delivery Service”
4th place ($750) – Shelley Cryan, “Change a Life with a Kiva Loan”
5th place ($500) – Andrew Huffaker, “Kiva – Loans That Change Lives”
But wait…it’s not over yet!
We’re entering the next phase of the video competition and Tongal will be awarding cash prizes to the Top 5 “Most Viewed” videos. Deadline is January 31st so cast your vote today by watching your favorite videos!
For more information on the contest, including how the videos were judged, see our original post here.
Thanks again to all of the participants, we are thrilled to share your creative work with our community and we appreciate all of the submissions!
Happy Holidays!
