Calling all world travelers, all microfinance fans, all global development experts. We want you!
Applications for the May 2013 class of Kiva Fellows are now open! Deadline: January 27.
You can find out everything you want to know and more on the Kiva Fellowship website, but to summarize: Kiva Fellows are remarkable individuals who spend four months (May-September) in the field working with one or more of Kiva's Field Partners to be our eyes and ears on the ground.
Kiva works with over 140 partners, including microfinance institutions, social enterprises, academic instituions, solar companies and more. This is what makes lending to thousands of borrowers possible. And none of it could happen without Kiva Fellows.

As a Fellow, you might find yourself meeting with borrowers, training partner staff how to post loans onto Kiva, taking photos of your travels, streamlining processes, making sure borrowers get their needs met and questions answers, and much more. There's no such thing as a typical Kiva Fellow experience.
And there's no such thing as a "typical Kiva Fellow" applicant.
Over the years, MBAs, filmmakers, professionals transitioning careers, lawyers, public policy researchers, consultants, financial planners, firefighters, engineers and veterans of the armed forces have all succeeded in the role and contributed in their own way. Fellows range in age from the minimum of 21 to over 60 years old, and come from all over the world.
