A loan helped to buy more cooking pots to sell.

Siah's story

This is 34-year-old Siah, from Liberia. She lives with her partner and three children, two of whom are in school.

Siah is a hardworking businesswoman who sells cooking pots. Over the years, she has been operating her sales. She learned how to sell from her father and started the business with her own savings. She sells Monday through Saturday, spending 10 hours at her business site. She has no problem with her sales.

She applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. With this loan, she will buy more cooking pots to sell to her good clients.

She likes her business because sales are profitable. She would like to deal with international business in the future. Siah is highly grateful for the financial support rendered.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
