Mabinty's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 29-year-old Mabinty from Looking Town branch.

She is a single businesswoman with one child the age of 11 who is currently attending school. She started this business to take care of her family.

Mabinty runs a retail business and sells provisions to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for the past 2 years.

Mabinty says that her challenge is the slow sales of the business.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more items: Corn Flakes, sausage, milk. etc. to increase her business.

Mabinty says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family. In the future, she would like to expand to a large scale.

She says thanks to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to funding in areas where there are limited alternative sources of finance.
