A loan helped to buy more dishes and water to sell.

Patience's story

Meet 34-year-old Patience. She is married and has 3 children who are currently in school and live at home. Patience completed school up to seventh grade.

She is a hardworking businesswoman who sells dishes and water. Over the past 8 years she has been operating her sales. She learned how to sell from her mother and started the business with her own savings. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and faces no problem with her sales. She sells it Monday through Saturday and spends 9 hours at her business site.

Patience applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. She plans to use the loan to buy more dishes and water to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it pays her children's tuition.

Her dream for the future is to own a shop. She wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
