A loan helped a member to buy a cow.

Thanh Yen 44 Group's story

Phuong, 36, is an ethnic Thai lady who lives with her husband and two daughters in a small and remote village in the mountains of north-west Vietnam. In the picture, she stands first from the right.

Her family's income almost relies on her work at agriculture production. Indeed, Phuong and her husband have to work very hard in the field to provide for her family, in areas such as cultivating rice and breeding chickens and ducks. Besides this, her first daughter is 17 years old and has a job to earn extra money for the family.

However, the family's income is still unstable and the local government has recognized her family as a near-poor household. Phuong is always eager to escape the poverty scene, so she thinks about how to expand her breeding model. She learned how to raise cows from people in the village and through the Anh Chi Em program's training in breeding techniques.

Now Phuong has more knowledge and she has boldly decided to take a loan from Anh Chi Em to buy a cow. She hopes she will get a good profit from this investment. She believes that in the near future, she will have a more comfortable life with a stable economy.
