A loan of $400 helps to buy farm inputs such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers to help a mom with good credit history improve her farm and create hope for her this season.

Rose's story

Meet this nice and zealous mom, Rose (61 years old mom of 6). She is a woman who has a good credit history.

Life in Machakos, Kenya, is a struggle for everyone, but for a peasant farmer like Rose, it’s even harder. Rose is a professional farmer and has been in the farming business for the past few years, during which she has been successful.

Rose grows and sells crops, and she has been able to purchase farm animals and construct various structures on her farm. These commercial activities place her in a better position to engage in other agricultural businesses, which she does.

Rose dreams that through farming she will be able to pull away from poverty and see to it that all her children successfully complete their studies.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, has extended its services to the remote areas in the region of Kenya, and its staff is keen to ensure that hard-working women like Rose benefit from loans that should enable them to purchase farming inputs.

Rose is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. Through this intervention, she will be able to improve the quality of her farm products.

Please support Rose during this rainy planting season and make her life bright!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
